Take your indoor activities outside

By May Silja Andersen Holm

Longer days and more light make us go outside more. Having your morning coffee in the fresh air. Taking the easel into the garden to paint, to play boardgames with the family or toast the girlfriends on the balcony. Something we all look forward to, throughout the winter months. But the weather in spring can still be cold.

My family and I, based in the southern part of the Copenhagen harbour, go to our summer house in Kulhuse as often as we can. To whiz out of town and hear the birds sing and go for walks along the fjord are some of the best things to do for us. On cold days, where we would otherwise tend to stay indoors, we have developed new habits. We take the typical indoor activities outside.

We challenge each other to take an activity outside. Uma, our 9-year-old daughter, her grandpa, Ole, and her dad, Martin, all like to draw and paint. Our 6-year-old son Sofus loves a game of chess or Ludo (Uckers). Grandma Anne-Marie loves to read all day long, and under the heating lamp, with a cuppa, it can hardly get any cosier. I myself am usually up for a little bit of everything. With heating lamps, it is no problem to take your indoor activities outside. It is at least as warm and cosy as lighting up a fire, only without the smell.

During the week, our outdoor life takes place on our small, Copenhagen-style balcony of just a few square meters, and our boat house in the harbour. Until a couple of years back, we primarily used the balcony during the summer, when the sun was high. The last few years, however, we have had a MINI-patio heater from Wishco, and therefore we use the balcony a lot more - when entertaining guests, when drinking our morning coffee, in the afternoons after work, perhaps with a book, or on weekend nights with a glass of wine.

A heating lamp from Wishco makes it easy to take the activities of winter and fall outside. With a heating lamp you will get fresh air, without compromising regarding the cold or the consciousness regarding the environment.

Many may not associate heating lamps with environmental consciousness or a beautiful design. But Wishco has made three different heating lamp models running on electricity, which actually do take into consideration both the environment and a simple, elegant, Nordic design.

The Wishco heating lamps are not expensive to operate. They have a minimized loss of energy, which also makes them some of the most environment-friendly heating lamps on the market.

The heating lamps are available both with brackets for mounting and with a tripod. With the tripod it is easy to move the heating lamp around on the patio, in the garden or back and forth between home and the summer house, for instance.
